Mayflower Gulch Grand Traverse
Trail Length: 4 Miles Round Trip
Trail Type: Out & Back
Elevation Gain: 400 - 1500 feet
Dog Friendly: Yes
Looking for a perfect winter weekend hike? Look no further! Mayflower Gulch offers something for all skill levels and beautiful views the entire way into the gulch. Hiking into the gulch is a relatively easy hike if you have the correct gear. Snowshoes are definitely recommended for this hike during the winter season. The snow can be deep in some spots and having snowshoes will save you some energy. Make sure to bring your pup with you on this adventure because this trail is very dog friendly! After the trailhead sign there is a trail split. If you want an easier hike up with a good snowpack, pick the right trail. This trail is trafficked more by hikers, snowshoers, and cross country skiers but if you don't have snowshoes I would recommend taking this trail. Choosing the left trail provides better views of the sawtooth peaks and better photography opportunities of the gulch. Without snowshoes the trail is manageable but be prepared to fall into some snow! The left trail is also trafficked much less so you won't have much company!
